About Project
Nimo Weather is an interactive weather app that communicates with the users. the users will be notified about the weather conditions in an ordinary way using animations, voices, and texts.
Different animated characters are there to help you out and tell you all about the weather.
Idea
The idea is creating an app for the user to have more understanding of the weather rather than just some texts and statistics.
This project started by me as a designer and ios developer and one of my friend Nima as an app developer. Currently, the Android version is ready to install and available on Play store. Although, it's still on beta version and we use free access API by Openweathermap.
The next plan is getting feedback from users, then by Machine learning add some exciting feature such as customizing messages per user, and selecting clothes base on user feedback and situation.
Characters In UX
That was a quite new challenge for me because one of my interests is involving a character in UX and I've tried the concept of including characters for interaction part of apps.
Character Design
For Nimoweather we started with a character whose name is Leo and trying to tell the user about the weather and his clothes and face should be corresponded to weather conditions.
The next character is Lili and like Leo we needed a female version to act and tell users about the weather in a different way.
Design Base on Weather Conditions
On the background, we had different weather conditions with animations relating to each weather like fogy, stormy, rainy and etc.
Also, I had to design every element for night mode.
Icons
Some icon sets designed for the app to be inserted on view and users can see information about the rest of the week.
Voices
The app currently is ready in tow languages: English and Persian and for both male and female characters we provided some voices that make character able to talk with the user about the weather conditions.
