Description
Memorly is a project which is done during startup weekend in Berlin and could win the award at the of this event. The idea was implementing a project the help people to remember different context by Music. Users can change their favorite music and by using rhymes, rhythms and by customizing the lyrics which supposed to be the text they want to remember.
The project was supposed to be a mobile application. I joined the team as a UX designer and creative member of the team.
Investigation
The problem is remembering some texts, short or long may be pretty tough and we were trying to make it easy throughout customized music. In this case, we needed to search how the recalling process works for people.
First, like user research, we started creating a questionnaire to gather data from people. By researches, we found that 88% of respondents have problems to remember smth in the last 24 hrs.
Also for 46% of the respondents repeating the information works best for memorizing.
Exploration
The team starts discussing problem and challenges and we focus on the areas which we can use the application and different method of memorization.
So we started brainstorming and writing problems and possibilities on sticky notes. And based on our investigation focus on tow matters first providing customized music by changing the lyrics based on rhythms and rhymes.
Design goal and structures
After whiteboarding, we started sketching the initial ideas and design procedure and think about how can user can work with the app to record their voice and sync with customized content.
We ask some participant too give feedback from them and find the most convenient way to record the user's voice and add them to the song.
We focus on tow parts:
- Users who want to record quickly over the song like karaoke with their own content
Users who like to record base on rhymes which is suitable for long type contents
Prototypingss
In the beginning, we started sketching all of the views and sections in the application on the papers to have a road map for designing and check the navigations and user functions circle.
We focused on these features:
1- A section for the users to access their favorite music
2- Quick record mode to save their customized music based on their texts
3- Convenient interaction to record their voice during using rhymes and rhythms
4- Collection section to have access to their recorded music and use them in the quickest time
